A team of employees from the kitchenware brand have joined with the charity and recycling firm Printwaste, to clean up the beach at Weston-Super-Mare.
The team of 22 ProCook volunteers from the Gloucester HQ and stores in the South West, along with three Printwaste volunteers, collected a total of 80kg of litter from the beach.
Life’s a Beach is a charity set up by ProCook’s founder and ceo, Daniel O’Neill, which supports the elimination of single use plastics from Britain’s beaches and waterways, while educating younger generations about plastic pollution through school outreach.
Life’s a Beach events and engagement coordinator, Sophie Chappell, said: “I am so grateful to the wonderful volunteers from both ProCook and Printwaste. Working together, we managed to clean up an amazing amount of rubbish from the beach, preventing it from being washed back out to sea. It is events like this that not only make our beaches cleaner for everyone, but our oceans cleaner also.”
ProCook ceo and founder, Daniel O’Neill, added: “It was a privilege to join Life’s a Beach and Printwaste for a fantastic beach clean-up.
“All of us at ProCook are allocated a Good Cause Day each year, and it’s great that some of our team chose to use theirs to support Life’s a Beach and the great work they do. We’re proud to have helped remove a substantial amount of litter and look forward to future events.”
