Which? tested a range of popular chef’s knives, to find those which rated the best at cutting through the trickiest of foods, even after regular use. The knives were also rated on how comfortable they are to handle in all tasks.
The judges said: “Easily a Best Buy, this knife effortlessly sliced its way through everything during our challenging sharpness tests.”
The report also said: “The Robert Welch Signature cook’s knife is easy to use, especially to rock back and forth, which makes cutting herbs and vegetables a breeze, and the smooth curved handle is comfortable and gives you excellent control.”
Signature cook’s knives are available in a range of sizes, including 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 and 25cm. The blades are created from German 1.4116 stainless steel and are fully forged from a single piece of steel for strength, balance and durability.
A 15° Japanese edge offers sharpness, precision and ease of cutting, while the angled full bolster provides comfort and style. The ergonomic Dupont handle offers an impermeable seal for lasting hygiene and will fit into any sized hand.
Paul deBretton Gordon, design director at Robert Welch Designs, commented: “The design process for the Signature cook’s knives was rooted in questioning all aspects of functionality, durability, methods of manufacture and ease of use. It is pleasing to see our efforts endorsed by Which?, such a well-respected consumer association.”
