Samuel Groves is now a member of the Made in Britain community, and is using the distinctive logo on the cookware and bakeware made in is factory in Birmingham.
“Made in Britain” is a growing community of manufacturers who can apply the protected collective mark to products, packaging, websites and social media.
Lee McDonagh, managing director of the family-owned U Group (which owns Samuel Groves and Mermaid brands) reflects: “We recognised the superior pedigree of the Samuel Groves and Mermaid brands and the potential for U Group. We’re very proud to be able to say we make world-class cookware and bakeware in Birmingham.”
Lee reports: “We applied to join Made in Britain because membership independently reinforces the UK-manufactured aspect of our cookware and bakeware and helps the customer to quickly identify the provenance of the product.”
* Suppliers can find out more about the Made in Britain community at the BHETA networking forum on March 25. John Pierce, the ceo of the Made In Britain Campaign will be addressing the trade association’s forum.
