Sign up for BHETA and Bira’s ‘Tussle on the Turf’

Members of The British Independent Retailers Association (Bira) and British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) will go head to head in a friendly but competitive networking, business and social golf tournament. The fourth ‘Tussle on the Turf’ event will be held on Wednesday July 17 at Stratford-upon-Avon’s The Welcombe Golf Club.

The Welcombe championship standard 18-hole course is set in 157 acres of Warwickshire countryside and provides a suitably challenging round for players of all abilities.

BHETA has won the last two tournarments, so Bira members from independent cookshops, housewares, hardware and DIY stores are invited to take up the gauntlet and battle it out on the greens. The Bira team will be lead out by Vin Vara of London housewares stockists, The Toolshop Group.

Besides its friendly competitiveness, the aim of the event is to forge closer relationships between the two associations and for members to gain greater awareness of each other’s needs in order to develop business.

Jeff Moody, Bira Direct managing director says: “Following the success of this evolving tournament we are so happy to be involved again. We are always strengthening our members’ relationships with suppliers. This friendly inter-association golf competition is a great opportunity for both to build a better understanding of each other and have fun too.”

Retailer and supplier teams of four are invited to participate in the event. More information can be found at bira.co.uk/event/golfday2019/or by contacting Michael Dark mda.mail@virgin.net.
