Smidge supports Above & Beyond

Smidge (the sustainable ‘on the go’ brand) has donated 1,200 limited edition bottles to help the fundraising efforts of Above & Beyond, the official charity for Bristol city centre hospitals.

The bottles will be used for the fundraising initiative Challenge Against Cancer. People who raise £150 or more for the initiative will receive a limited edition ‘Thank You’ Smidge bottle.

Rob Jones, managing director of Smidge and Horwood (based in Bristol) commented: “We are delighted to support Above & Beyond’s fundraising efforts. Unfortunately, we have all been touched by cancer at some point in our lives, so we are thrilled to be part of this campaign raising needed funds for Bristol Hospitals’ fight against cancer.”

Cancer is the leading cause of premature death in Bristol, where rates of premature death are significantly higher than for the rest of England. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, cancer has continued to affect the lives of thousands of people across Bristol and the demand for outstanding cancer services continues to increase.

Gemma Jenkins, Above & Beyond’s corporate partnerships officer said: “We want to say a big thank you to everyone at Smidge for donating these amazing water bottles. If you want to get one of the limited-edition designs, visit the Above & Beyond website to find out more about our Bristol Against Cancer challenge events.”

Challenge Against Cancer fundraising will help create safe, modern and friendly environments that reduce anxiety and offer calm spaces, as well as contributing to world-class facilities and the very best equipment for treating patients. Each year, Above & Beyond aims to raise £3 million.
