Sophie celebrates 15 years with Portmeirion

Award-winning chef and designer Sophie Conran is celebrating 15 years of collaboration with Portmeirion. With two ‘organic-inspired’ new shapes to add to her existing tableware collection, Sophie’s new launches also include glassware and her first cutlery range for Portmeirion.

“I am so delighted to be bringing out this new, beautiful collection in collaboration with Portmeirion. I still can’t quite believe we’ve been working together for 15 years,” Sophie enthused. “It is immensely enjoyable working with the team, Portmeirion are hugely knowledgeable and create pieces of amazing quality. I feel very lucky to work with such wonderful people. “

Made in Portugal, the Arbor and Floret stoneware collections have been created using organic Iberian clay which has been fired once to keep the environmental impact of the production process low, while all the packaging is fully recyclable.

Talking about her Arbor glassware range, Sophie said: “I like the idea that glass is malleable, we used that idea to put the imprints on the glass. It is important a glass feels both wonderful and tactile in the hand and not only looks good but is great to use.”
