Award-winning Spice Kitchen – founded by Shashi Aggarwal and her son Sanjay – will be exhibiting at the live Exclusively Show (August 24-25) for the first time as part of the show’s new Launchpad area.
Spice Kitchen’s consumer press coverage includes an interview with Shashi in the September issue of Good Housekeeping magazine, part of a two-page article on women who are ‘reinventing retirement,’ sponsored by Legal & General. Having retired and spent time travelling, Shashi confides: “I was craving a project,” when Sanjay suggested: “You’ve always loved cooking and spices– what about that?’
The artisan family business produces spice tins that are wrapped in sari material, as well as spice blends, loose tea, and kitchenware – including chai cups, thali plates and bbq skewers. Shashi explains: “The idea behind the business has been to empower people to cook more flavoursome food.”
Meanwhile, Sanjay told HousewaresNews.net: “We are really excited about Exclusively. Over the years, lots of retailers have told us we should take part. However, it was a little cost prohibitive before the new Launchpad section of the show, which makes it easier for small businesses to participate.”
He added: “I am looking forward to connecting with another segment of retailers and leveraging our success of working with Lakeland, working with other cookshops, and seeing if there are any other partnership opportunities in the market.”
