Pawnbroker Dan Hatfield named a plate from the Portmeirion collection as one of his picks of Coronation memorabilia.
The round-up of products was named ‘Coronation memorabilia worth collecting‘ and featured commemorative coins, a teddy bear, a brooch, a paperweight, and more.
Speaking about the plates to presenters Philip Schofield and Rochelle Humes, Dan said: “These could be worth something.”
The commemorative plate is one of seven earthenware coronation pieces, each one adorned with Spode’s iconic cobalt blue and proudly made in the company’s Stoke-on-Trent factory.
The intricate design of this collection features leaves and scrolls that intertwine with roses, shamrocks, thistles, and daffodils that represent the four countries of the United Kingdom. An illustration of lions on either side of a crown sits front and centre of many pieces in the set and represents strength, courage, and dignity.
