Sponsors get behind the Excellence in Housewares Awards

With just hours to go until the winners of the Excellence in Housewares Awards 2023 are announced, sponsors have been singing the praises of the event.

The glittering event, which is in its 24th year, will take place at The Royal Lancaster London, today (Wednesday 4 October, 2023), when the winners across the retail, product and supplier categories will be announced.

The kind sponsors of the awards have been speaking about why they support the awards. Will Jones, coo at BHETA and chairman of Exclusively Shows, commented: “The Excellence in Housewares Awards is always a special occasion for the industry – it provides an opportunity to meet with old and new industry colleagues from both the supply and retail sides.

“Celebrating success is key for all successful businesses and BHETA, and the Exclusively Show, are very proud to collectively sponsor four awards categories.”

Andrew Goodacre, ceo of BIRA, added: “BIRA is proud to sponsor the Excellence in Housewares Awards, celebrating innovation and excellence in the housewares industry. It’s our way of championing this sector and those who contribute to its growth. We’re thrilled to be part of an initiative that spotlights outstanding achievements in our industry.”

Eddingtons is sponsoring the Icon Award. Managing director, Richard Walker, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the Eddingtons Fissler Icon Award this year. It’s the 70th year anniversary of Fissler pressure cooking and we thought it would be very apt to mark the occasion with this sponsorship.

“We are bringing together suppliers, customers and valued team members to celebrate the awards which always prove to be a fantastic night out in London. We are also saying farewell to David Gosling our area sales manager for the south west who is retiring at the end of the year. Dave has been with Eddingtons for nearly 15 years and a further 15 before that in the industry, so this is a fitting way to celebrate his career in housewares.”

Matthew Canwell, managing director of Lifetime Brands, commented: “We are delighted to be once again sponsoring the awards and their recognition of innovation and growth. Despite challenging times there is so much good news and success to celebrate, and our sponsorship of the Honorary Achievement Award is a small marking in respect of the brilliant people who make this industry what it is, through thick and thin.”

“Hot on the heels of winning two Red Dot awards this year, EKO is delighted to sponsor this year’s exclusively housewares awards – the Oscars of the UK homewares industry,” added Brian Walmsley, commercial lead, EKO Home UK, sponsors of the lightbox. “Many congratulations to all the other finalists. We’re also delighted with the huge buzz around the recent launch of ReBorn. This exciting new range is all made in the UK, entirely from recycled materials, and now available in John Lewis and www.reborn.homes.”

Hayley Baddiley, global marketing director, Denby, said: “Denby are proud to be a sponsor of the Excellence in Housewares Awards to honour the Housewares Industry.  We wish everyone all the best for a great evening and for the year ahead.”

Smeg is sponsoring the Retail Employee of the Year category. John Davies, head of marketing, offered: “Smeg is delighted to support the excellence in housewares awards again this year, as well as eagerly awaiting the result in the plugged in category.”

Head of Gastroback UK, export and business development, Marcus Lux, said: “This is the fourth year Gastroback has been a sponsor of the Excellence in Housewares Awards and we are especially pleased to be sponsoring the Excellence in Retailer Initiative, which rewards a retailer for going above and beyond to get the message across to consumers. We’re really looking forward to seeing who the winner is this year and we wish all our colleagues the best of luck.”

Michelle Dickinson, managing director, Burton McCall, commented: “For the second year running, we’re excited to be sponsoring the drinks reception at the prestigious ceremony. The event is an ideal opportunity for us to network with so many in our industry, whilst celebrating the collective achievements of the past year.”

“We at Peugeot are excited to sponsor the annual Excellence in Housewares awards, the showcase for our industry,” added Chris Gee, managing director, Peugeot Saveurs UK. “Not only are we up for a few awards – for our new innovative pepper experience with Maestro, and also the industry’s Icon award, but we are also there to meet and greet our fellow colleagues and retail partners and to present the prestigious best online retailer award. Good luck to everyone and see you on the dance floor.”
