The team at Progressive Housewares and HousewaresNews.net will collectively take one million steps in the month of March to raise funds for industry charity, The Rainy Day Trust.
For Mad March Million, teams of three or four aim to take a million steps between them in the month of March. You can run, jog, or just walk, but the important part is getting out and active every day, while raising much needed funds for The Rainy Day trust.
Team PH will largely be carried by group editor, Samantha Loveday’s marathon training, who already put in a whopping 40,000 steps in one day on Sunday, as she ran a half marathon in preparation for the big day.
But even Samantha can’t do it alone, so will be joined by Max Publishing’s coo, Rob Willis, Progressive Housewares’ commercial manager, John Barry, and editor, Katie Roberts-Mason (and her yellow labrador, Woody).
In the first four days, the team has clocked up 180, 365 steps – a solid start. But to keep the momentum going, we need your support. Rob commented: “For some of us, this challenge is a walk in the park, but for those who are desk-based, it’s going to take some determination to get the steps in. It’s a great reminder of the importance of getting active for our mental and physical health.
“But most of all, every step is worth it to raise funds for the wonderful Rainy Day Charity, which supports so many in our industry during tough times and is struggling to keep up while demand is so high. So please dig deep and throw what you can at us, and we’ll keep getting up and walking and running all month.”
