With a few days still left to go of March, the team from Progressive Housewares and housewaresnews.net has reached 1,144,452 steps in support of industry charity, The Rainy Day Trust.
Group editor, Samantha Loveday holds the record so far for the most steps in one day, with an incredible 40,851 at the beginning of the month, when she completed a half marathon as part of her training for the London Marathon.
Commercial manager, John Barry is clocking up the miles as he pushes baby daughter, Grace in her buggy, while publisher, Rob Willis has been seen chasing his children on bikes and toy cars to get the steps in. Editor Katie Roberts-Mason’s yellow labrador, Woody, has been especially pleased with the longer daily walks.
Now that we’ve put in the hard work (and we’ll keep stepping right up until the end of March), we need your support.
Rob Willis, publishing director and trustee of The Rainy Day Trust, commented: “This has been a great way to get our team working together and being more active. But we must remember why we are doing this. The Rainy Day Trust provides vital support for people in the housewares industry, just like you and I, who have fallen on difficult times, or are going through a tough period.
“It’s not always easy to ask for help, but The Rainy Day Trust is always there, in confidence, to provide it. But in turn, it needs our support to be able to do that and the pressure the charity is under is huge. So please, if you are able, do sponsor us and support this incredible resource.”
