Inspiring Culinary Generations Aspiring 2021 – the national cookery competition sponsored by Teflon non-stick coatings – is celebrating its Aspiring Student Chef winners in three groups from 11 to 18 years of age.
The day saw an exceptional standard of cooking from all 17 finalists. Harvey Barker of Corfe Hills School (winner of the 16-18 group) was awarded the prestigious three-year Specialised Chefs Scholarship, which includes training in the best restaurants in the UK. The life changing opportunity could lead to a career as one of the country’s finest chefs. “I am really grateful for the opportunity to showcase my skills here and I’m excited for what the future brings,” commented Harvey.
All three winners received bundles of Teflon non-stick coated cookware, gift sets from partner Thermapen and cash prizes of up to £500.
The 11-13 year group winner is Louie Whelan-Dorney, Tendring Technology College and 14-16 winner is Reece Bosowitz, Marriotts School. Celebrity chef Lesley Waters lead the panel of judges, which included esteemed chefs.
