The Excellence In Housewares Awards Are Open For Entry

The Excellence In Housewares Awards 2020, organised by the team at Progressive Housewares, are now open for entry. All of the awards categories in these ultimate industry accolades – including those for product, retail, service and marketing – plus the Outstanding Achievement Award can now be entered via a brand new digital entry portal.

In a change from previous years, entry to all categories will be made and judged online via a brand new state-of-the-art portal. All product categories will be judged by an extensive panel of retailers and the retailer and marketing award categories by a panel of industry experts.

Screen Shot 2020-05-29 at 10.04.20Sharing the rationale behind the new approach both for the entry and judging process, Rob Willis, director of Max Publishing (which owns and organises the Awards), explained: “In light of the uncertainty and ongoing disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we were determined to create a failsafe method for these important awards that would enable suppliers to enter their wonderful new products as well as facilitating to shine a spotlight on retailers who have demonstrated their prowess on presenting these to the consumer.”

With the majority of offices and warehouses having been temporarily closed and with many people working from home, submitting imagery and accompanying information online provides an ideal solution. Users can register an account to make entries, which can also be done in stages with a ‘save my progress’ option, add or remove entries and more – making it a really user-friendly portal.

As Jo Howard, editor of Progressive Housewares added: “This year, more than ever, we need to be able to celebrate our industry’s achievements. We would like to thank everyone in the housewares community for their swift input and support of plans for this year’s Excellence in Housewares Awards as we all adjust the challenges of the current situation in the belief that we can all look forward to celebrating the triumphs together at the awards event later in the year.”

Keeping in step with the evolution of the sector, this year’s Excellence In Housewares Awards programme welcomes the introduction of new and updated awards categories, including Best Supermarket Retailer, Best Garden Centre Retailer, The Licensing Award and more of which you can read about HERE.

The deadline for entering the product categories, nominating retailers and retailers self-nomination is June 21, 2020. As ever entry is free of charge and the entry process is quick and easy.

Anyone seeking further clarification on entering the awards should contact Rob Willis, Jo Howard or John Barry who will be pleased to assist.
