The Kitchen Range in West Wickham has opened its Cookery School with its first class taking place today (June 14). The new Cookery School is described by cookshop partners Paul Geoghegan and Lucy Richards as “a home away from home, a place to learn, laugh, eat and drink with like-minded people.”
With beautiful wooden worktops and fixtures, the Cookery School is situated above the Cookshop itself, and is entered via a rooftop garden, which grows fresh ingredients for use in the classes. The garden also features table and chairs for students to enjoy some of the fruits of their labour as well as wait for classes to begin.
“Opening the school was a project born out of the most tumultuous time for our lovely shop: the pandemic gave us time and space to think about the direction we wanted to take our business in, so the Kitchen Range Cookery School was built,” reflect Paul and Lucy.
Upcoming classes include deboning chicken, pastry making, vegetarian and vegan dishes, sourdough bread, preserves and creating an Indian feast.
