Industry charity, the Rainy Day Trust has thanked prize givers while helping rise much-needed funds.
The Rainy Day Trust launched its Christmas Appeal asking businesses to support its regular crucial outreach during the festive period – providing much-needed hampers and food vouchers for vulnerable colleagues.
This included the much-anticipated Christmas raffle (see prizes below), with proceeds going towards helping ease the pressure on Rainy Day Trust funds as we move into what looks like being yet another stretched year.
Rainy Day Trust ceo Bryan Clover said that for many of the charity’s beneficiaries, the Rainy Day Trust’s Christmas card is the only one they receive and the hampers make a marked difference. “Each year we send out food vouchers and food hampers to our most vulnerable clients and once again this year, we saw their numbers increase with the addition of families struggling to cope with the high cost of living.
“We asked the industry to help us support these families at a time of year that can be extremely challenging and they have stepped up.
“But we certainly need more. The start of the year is going to be another tough one for many people and the pressure on our funds is increasing daily,” continued Bryan. “We are the safety net that keeps so many going, so if you and your business can help then please support us.
“As well as financial donations, please provide us with old stock which we can then sell to raise funds. That is something a lot of companies find is a quick and easy way to partner with us, and we have had some stonking stock donations recently.”
