In July the Right to Repair legislation came into force meaning that manufacturers of large domestic appliances will need to make repairable parts for products such as washing machines. However, with a movement towards longevity and sustainability across all areas of electricals, Lupe Technology is on a mission to reverse the culture of disposability.
Former Dyson engineer and co-founder of Lupe Technology Pablo Montero has launched the Lupe Pure Cordless vacuum cleaner. Developed over the past six years, the Lupe Pure Cordless is made from recycled plastic with each individual part removable, replaceable, and recyclable.
Pablo comments: “The Pure Cordless is the domestic appliance designed not just to shake-up the vacuum market but the entire home technology arena. We have strived to make a product as reliable and long-lasting as possible and hope consumers understand our mission to make technology stand the test of time. We want to help keep appliances out of landfill and perform as well as they did on day one for longer.”
Highlighting recent research that states a third of UK consumers are unaware of how to recycle old appliances, Pablo emphasises: “As the earth is warming, a huge cause of this environmental damage is the sheer quantity of wasted materials that end up in landfill, clogging up our planet and fuelling the need to continue constantly creating more items, and waste.”
