Victorinox joins BHETA

The iconic Victorinox brand has joined BHETA.

A fourth-generation family business operating in over 120 countries, Victorinox is best known for creating the original Swiss Army Knife – which laid the foundations for the global company. In addition to its iconic Swiss Army Knife, Victorinox produces premium household and professional knives, watches, travel gear and fragrances.

The origins of Victorinox date back to 1884, when Karl Elsener opened a knife making workshop in a village in central Switzerland.  Elsener delivered his first soldier’s knife to the Swiss Army in 1891.

For over 30 years, Victorinox’ UK presence has been managed by Burton McCall, which has played a pivotal role in expanding the brand’s reach across the UK in all product categories, reinforcing positioning and visibility and promoting the key brand message of ‘preparedness’.

In an ongoing commitment to enhance efficiency and serve market needs in the best way, Victorinox and Burton McCall have collaboratively reviewed the operational structure in the UK. This has resulted in the decision to integrate the UK distribution for Swiss Army Knives, cutlery and watches into the brand’s UK sales organisation, Victorinox UK from 1 September 2024.

This change will harmonise the structure with the existing travel business in the market and means that Victorinox UK will handle UK sales and distribution directly.

Seema Grantham, BHETA’s sector manager for housewares said: “Victorinox is a very special brand with heritage and absolute credibility in its categories. I am delighted to welcome the brand to BHETA.”
