What More UK hosts national manufacturing day

What More UK, Lancashire housewares manufacturer and owner of Wham, PushPan and BetterWare, recently hosted a visit by fellow manufacturers to share best practice as part of National Manufacturing Day.

Organised by Make UK, the day showcased manufacturers across the UK and encouraged them to network and discuss new ideas and any learnings they may have. A party of 50 delegates met at AMRC North West in Salmesbury, followed by a visit to both sites of WhatMore UK.

What More shared best practice and some impressive statistics, including that from starting in 1999 with just 15 moulds for plastic goods, the company now makes over 200,000 product lines weekly. They also talked guests through their focus on investment, in capacity, people and product development.

The group then moved on to Safran Nacelles and Fort Vale, to understand different industries and take learnings from each other. Delegates thought this was a very useful exercise and interesting to meet people from other industries, to share best practise.

What More UK marketing and ecommerce director, Jonathan Cliffe, was pleased to host the party of delegates and share news and information about What More. He said: “It’s great to be able to host fellow leading manufacturers, show them our wide range and our impressive manufacturing and warehousing.

“Our operations director Garry Ireland is always willing to take people into our plant and show it off, and some really useful discussions came up along the way. We’re always looking for continuous improvement, so any sharing of best practise will always be welcomed.”

What More UK manufactures metal and plastic housewares of all kinds, from around the sink items to garden, garage and officeware. What More is a proud member of Made in Britain and exports UK branded goods to 75 countries around the world, in addition to every major UK supermarket and another 1,600 independent retailers.
