Whitby & Co hosts outdoor cooking showcase

Whitby & Co officially launched major German outdoor lifestyle brands, Petromax and Feuerhand in the UK at an outdoor cooking showcase last month.

Retailers, press and influencers gathered at Leighton Hall in Carnforth, Lancashire to see the Petromax Group products put through their paces by BBQ chefs Russell @mrrusselldaviesbbq and Ollie @mooseshack.

Guests had the opportunity to talk through the product range with the Whitby & Co team as well as Petromax representatives visiting from the German HQ in Magdeburg. Their products include fire bowls and barrels, cast iron cookware and accessories, cool bags and boxes, hurricane lanterns and grills.

Phil Ellwood, Whitby & Co managing director, said: “We were thrilled that so many of our retailers joined us at Leighton Hall, which in itself is a brilliant venue to showcase the brands – Russell and Ollie cooked over fire with Petromax and Feuerhand and we were able to style some of the stunning garden areas at the Hall with Feuerhand hurricane lanterns and Tamber tabletop grills as well as products from some of our other brands such as Klean Kanteen reusable drinkware and iconic French knife brand Opinel.

“We are already excited about the prospect of organising future events like this to showcase our brands and could really see this becoming a ‘must-attend’ date in the trade calendar.”

Tessa Boesche, key account manager/international at Petromax, added: “Petromax and Feuerhand are both very practical brands and seeing them in action is the best way to showcase their quality. Talking to some of our retail guests, they were inspired by what they saw and how that could work in their own store setting.”

The event also included a small showroom area with retail display units for Klean Kanteen and Opinel as well as new French magnetic cutlery brand Akinod and Swedish outdoor lifestyle brand Light My Fire. Cal Major, champion stand up paddle boarder, environmental campaigner and Klean Kanteen ambassador also attended.
