Zwilling has been highlighting how food waste links to global emissions, and how its Fresh & Save vacuum food storage helps. The brand acknowledges a report by the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change stating that that food waste is responsible for 10% of global emissions. It also notes UNEP Food Waste Index Report 2021, which estimates that “8-10% of global greenhouse emissions are associated with food that is not consumed.”
Zwilling showcased it Fresh & Save vacuum food storage at Exclusively (August 24-25 2021), emphasising that it provides a simple solution to food waste. Vacuum sealed food can be kept fresh for up to five times longer in the cupboard, fridge or freezer. The method of storage also locks in natural nutrients, vitamins and minerals without losing freshness and flavour.
Earlier this year, one enthusiastic product reviewer (Duncan Bell of T3) confided: ‘Sealing in the freshness’ has become my new kitchen obsession, and I would place Fresh And Save among the most handy things I have ever been sent at T3.’
